THINK GLOBALLY, ACT LOCALLY

Daffodils Social-Educational Campaign

The Daffodils Campaign was initiated by the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw. Its purpose is to disseminate knowledge about the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and to honor its heroes. One of them was Marek Edelman. As one of the last leaders, he survived the bloody fight that was waged by the Jewish Combat Organization. On April 19, on the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, Marek Edelman used to receive daffodils from an anonymous person every year.  He would lay them at the monument to the Ghetto Heroes in Warsaw on 19 April. Inspired by this tradition, since 2013, as a sign of remembrance of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, we carry out " Daffodils campaign" at the IYMC, preparing yellow paper flowers and distributing them along with information leaflets among our groups and residents of the city of Oświęcim.

We encourage volunteers, teachers, and educators to cooperate!
