Pegasus of freedom

Installation of Waldemar Rudyk

On the 2nd of September 2019 in the garden of the IYMC the artistic installation by Waldemar Rudyk, „Pegasus of Freedom” was presented. The partner of the project was the International Auschwitz Committee.

The event, finished with the beautiful concert by Madame JeanPierre from Kraków, it was a tribute to the Polish freedom and commemorated the 100th anniversary of regaining its independence. The guests of honor were Zofia Posmysz, writer and Auschwitz Survivor as well as the author of the sculpture, Waldemar Rudyk. Despite the pouring rain, the event gathered a big publicity of the inhabitants of Oświęcim and neighborhood and the participants of Polish-German project “Remembrance and Responsibility” – youngsters from VW Wolfsburg, Emden and Osnabrück and pupils from the Technical school from Bielsko-Biała. Young people not only participated in the event – they also got engaged into its organization.
