3rd Poster Biennale

101 authors from 17 countries (Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, China, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Iran, Lithuania, Mexico, South Korea, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Taiwan, Ukraine, the USA) participated in the contest. 226 posters were submitted, 74 of which qualified for the Biennale.

On the 14th of June 2010, the International youth meeting centre in Oświęcim hosted the deliberations of the Jury of the 3rd International Socio-Political Poster Biennale in Oświęcim. The Jury consisted of: President of the Jury – Prof. Michał Kliś, the Academy of fine Arts, Katowice, Poland; Milan Mazur, Považská Galéria Umieni, Žilina, Slovakia; Eric Mayen, University of Bonn, Germany; Krzysztof Dydo, Dydo Poster Collection, Kraków, Poland; Paweł Warchoł, a graphic artist, Oświęcim, Poland. The International youth Meeting Centre was represented on the Jury by: Leszek Szuster – director and Joanna Klęczar – Co-ordinator.

The Jury made the following Awards:

  • The 1st Prize was awarded to BANQUIAN ZHENG (China) for the poster „Confrontation & Reflexion”
  • The 2nd Prize was awarded to WŁADYSŁAW PLUTA (Poland) for the poster „Coexistence”
  • The 3rd Prize was awarded to DMITRY ZAKHAROV (Russia) for the poster „No Title”

Honourable mentions was awarded to:

  • ERIN WRIGHT (USA) for the poster „Where is my Voice?”
  • SEBASTIAN KUBICA (Poland) for the poster “Elaphe longissima”
  • YAN-TING CHEN (Taiwan) for the poster „Letter-cutting”
  • DALIDA KARIC-HADZIAHMETOVIC (Bosnia & Herzegovina) for the poster „Terrorism”
