Info

As part of the encounter program, we deal intensively with the history of National Socialism, the Holocaust and the genocide of Sinti*and Roma*, particularly in relation to the history of Auschwitz.
The focus is not only on the exchange of historical knowledge, but also on the critical examination of the ongoing marginalization of the genocide of Sinti*and Roma* in collective memory. As part of the seminar, we will focus on forgotten biographies, research the voices of survivors and enter into dialog with members of the minority from Poland. Through this trans-European perspective, we want to locate antiziganism historically and make it visible in its current manifestations. The lack of recognition of the genocide of Sinti* and Roma* and the gaps in public remembrance will be addressed in order to promote a more comprehensive and just remembrance.
