We are in the town of Oświęcim to remind about Auschwitz. To convince, that we must learn from the past. We show that Oświęcim can be a place of meetings, reconciliation, and understanding. We are in the town of Oświęcim so that Auschwitz will not be repeated.

IN MEMORY OF THE SINTI AND ROMA

On 2 August, 2021 a delegation of the IYMC took part in ceremonies commemorating the 77th anniversary of the liquidation of the Roma camp in Auschwitz. Wreaths were laid at the monument commemorating the extermination of Roma and Sinti at the KL Auschwitz II-Birkenau. During the ceremony, Dr. Piotr Cywiński, director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, presented Romani Rose with the "Light of Remembrance," the highest award of the Memorial, which is given to those who make the greatest contribution to education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust.
