We are in the town of Oświęcim to remind about Auschwitz. To convince, that we must learn from the past. We show that Oświęcim can be a place of meetings, reconciliation, and understanding. We are in the town of Oświęcim so that Auschwitz will not be repeated.

Béla Faragó

1958-2022

We were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Béla Faragó, an outstanding artist, draughtsman, conservator and participant in the International Biennale of Social and Political Posters.

We had the opportunity to admire the artistic artistry of the Hungarian artist, who lived and worked in Nuremberg since the 1980s, many times, as well as to present to the Oświęcim public during individual and group exhibitions at our Center. His exhibitions "Dance of Death" and "Welcome to Paradise" were among the most interesting artistic presentations of the Meeting Center. The House and its activities were also very important to Béla Faragó in relation to memory and in the context of civic and cultural activities. The close bonds of friendship that we shared with this exceptional artist made him a household name at the Meeting House.

The artist passed away on 23 January 2022 at the age of 64.

We will miss him greatly.
