Farewell to Consul General Dr. Michael Groß
On 18 July, we said goodbye to Consul General Dr. Michael Groß at the IYMC. After 7 years at the helm of the Consulate General of the FRG in Krakow, he has now been assigned other duties. On this occasion, many of the Consul's companions gathered at the IYMC today to offer him a fitting farewell.
Among the guests were Janusz Chwierut, Mayor of Oświęcim, Andrzej Skrzypiński, Starost of Oświęcim, Helena Wisła, Director of the Hospice in Oświęcim, Małgorzata Waligura, Director of the Auschwitz Institute, Arkadiusz Bąk, Vicar of the Franciscan Monastery in Harmęże, Dariusz Chrostowksi, Centre for Dialogue and Prayer, Andrzej Kacorzyk, Deputy Director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, Joanna Klęczar-Déodat, Director of the IYMC, and Alicja Bartuś, Chairwoman of the Board of the Foundation for the IYMC.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Consul General from the bottom of our hearts, who has been very committed to the IYMC during his 7 years in office and has always been there for us with advice and support.
