A HOUSE TO LIVE
A PLACE TO LEARN

We are in the town of Oświęcim to remind about Auschwitz. To convince, that we must learn from the past. We show that Oświęcim can be a place of meetings, reconciliation, and understanding. We are in the town of Oświęcim so that Auschwitz will not be repeated.

German-Greek youth exchange

A German-Greek youth exchange took place at the IYMC from 24 to 27 September 2024. The programme included themed workshops, a guided tour of the Auschwitz Memorial and a meeting with Polish young people (Stanisław Konarski High School No. 1 in Oświęcim).

The young people learnt about the Holocaust, but also about the German occupation of Poland and Greece. They learnt about the fate of children and young people from Poland, Greece and Germany, their survival strategies and their post-war stories.

As part of a workshop, they designed their own monuments and memorials commemorating the victims of National Socialism and the Holocaust.

23 pupils from Germany, 23 pupils from Greece and 24 pupils from Poland took part in the project.
