A HOUSE TO LIVE
A PLACE TO LEARN

We are in the town of Oświęcim to remind about Auschwitz. To convince, that we must learn from the past. We show that Oświęcim can be a place of meetings, reconciliation, and understanding. We are in the town of Oświęcim so that Auschwitz will not be repeated.

International Poster Biennale

Exhibition in Cieszyn

From 10 November to 5 December 2021, the University Gallery of the Silesian University in Cieszyn will host the exhibition of the International Biennale of Socio-Political Posters "Creatively for Human Rights". The exhibition differs slightly from previous presentations of the biennale, because it shows a selection of posters from all eight editions so far, with a particular emphasis on the awarded and commended works and works of artists from the Cieszyn faculty.

The opening, during which the director of the Museum of Contemporary Art MOCAK in Krakow, Dr Maria Anna Potocka, and the chairman of the Jury, Professor Władysław Pluta, talked brilliantly about the art of posters, attracted a large audience, mainly lecturers and students of the Academy.

We would like to thank the authorities of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Silesia in Cieszyn, headed by Łukasz Kliś, PhD, Director of the Institute of Visual Arts, for the opportunity to present the exhibition, as well as our partner in the project, the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, for its continued support for the promotion of poster art.
