A HOUSE TO LIVE
A PLACE TO LEARN

We are in the town of Oświęcim to remind about Auschwitz. To convince, that we must learn from the past. We show that Oświęcim can be a place of meetings, reconciliation, and understanding. We are in the town of Oświęcim so that Auschwitz will not be repeated.

Statement by the IYMC in Oświęcim on the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border

The International Youth Meeting Centre in Oświęcim observes the tense situation on the Polish-Belarusian border with concern, regarding the immigrants staying there. Regardless of the complicated legal situation and the ambiguous status of these people, we express our solidarity with them and appeal to the Polish authorities to take all measures to resolve the situation humanely. The fact that the regime of Aleksander Lukashenko has not respected fundamental human rights for years, and that the Polish authorities are responsible for the inviolability of borders and the safety of Poles, it does not absolve them of moral responsibility for the fate of people who seek refuge in Poland.
