Minister for Education, Youth and Sports of the State of Brandenburg

The International Youth Meeting Centre in Oświęcim today hosted the Minister for Education, Youth and Sports of the State of Brandenburg, Ms Britta Ernst. The Minister was accompanied by Dr. Michael Groß, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Krakow, Ms Ulrike Häfner, Head of the Office of the Conference of Youth and Family Ministers of the Länder 2023, Ms Ulrike Grönefeld, Press Officer, and the members of the Foundation Council of the IYMC, Mr Dietmar Nietan, Member of the German Bundestag, Coordinator for German-Polish Inter-Societal and Cross-Border Cooperation, and Karsten Friedel, Head of Department 25 for Child and Youth Policy, Youth Work, Youth Social Work, State Youth Plan, Digitalisation in Child and Youth Services, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the State of Brandenburg.

Britta Ernst and her delegation met with Joanna Klęczar-Déodat, Director of the IYMC, Sylwia Stańska, Head of the Education and Programme Department (BPA), and Judith Hoehne-Krawczyk, Project Manager of Action Reconciliation Service for Peace and Deputy Head of the BPA. This was followed by a meeting with Alicja Bartuś and Krystyna Oleksy from the Board of the Foundation for the IYMC, Krzysztof Kania, Vice-President of the City of Oświęcim and members of the IYMC Foundation Board: Piotr Hertig, Jakob Stürmann and Helena Wisła.

Following the official meetings, a discussion with pupils from the Philipp Reis School from Friedrichsdorf/Hesse and volunteers from the IYMC took place in the forum.

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is an important partner of the IYMC and we are therefore very pleased that the Minister paid an extended visit to our house and took the time to inform herself in detail about the activities of our institution.
