A HOUSE TO LIVE
A PLACE TO LEARN

We are in the town of Oświęcim to remind about Auschwitz. To convince, that we must learn from the past. We show that Oświęcim can be a place of meetings, reconciliation, and understanding. We are in the town of Oświęcim so that Auschwitz will not be repeated.

World Refugee Day

Press release of the IAC

On today's World Refugee Day, Christoph Heubner, Executive Vice-President of the International Auschwitz Committee, emphasised during a visit to the Auschwitz Memorial:

"Auschwitz survivors remember, especially on this World Refugee Day, what it is like to stand as fugitives in front of a world frozen in fear, hatred and indifference, and they still know exactly how it feels to be hunted down, imprisoned and deported in this jeering, hateful and indifferent world. They therefore appeal to Germany and Europe to preserve these memories and to meet the plight of the people trying to reach Europe today with open eyes and open hearts. What is happening on the seas around Europe at the moment is a tragedy for all of us and that right-wing extremists are repeatedly trying to turn the fear of many people living in Europe into hatred against the refugees and the foreigners is a shame that we must never be indifferent to!"
